Where to get your Bank of America statement

Bank of America statements live in the Statements & Documents tab inside Online Banking or the Mobile Banking app — pick the account and the period and it downloads as a PDF. Personal checking and savings customers can typically also export recent transactions as CSV from the same account activity view. Bank of America's commercial and treasury clients use a separate cash-management portal, CashPro, which can deliver BAI2-format files for automated reconciliation instead of statement PDFs.

Prefer Bank of America's own export when you can get one

When that CSV or BAI2 file is available, use it rather than the PDF — it's the exact data Bank of America already generated, with no chance of a table being misread. Turn a CSV export into Excel, QBO or OFX on CSV → QBO, or a CashPro BAI2 file into a spreadsheet on BAI2 → Excel. This page is for the monthly PDF statement itself — the document every Bank of America account always has, personal or business, however far back your online archive goes.

Nothing about your Bank of America statement is uploaded

Your Bank of America statement is parsed entirely on your own machine, using the same PDF engine a browser tab already runs — it is never sent anywhere. There's no upload endpoint on this page to send it to, which you can confirm yourself by watching your browser's network panel while converting. Disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works. See the privacy page for details.

How this tool reads a Bank of America PDF statement

PDF statements store text at page coordinates, not in a table, so the parser reconstructs rows by grouping text fragments that share a line and reading them left to right. Lines that repeat on every page — headers, footers — are dropped, wrapped description lines are merged back onto the row above, and every way of writing a negative number is folded into one signed Amount column. Whatever number sits last on a row is kept aside as the running balance rather than added into your totals.

Frequently asked questions

Does Bank of America offer CSV instead of PDF?

Personal accounts can usually export a chosen range of recent transactions as CSV directly from Online Banking, separate from the archived monthly PDF statement. Treasury and commercial customers using CashPro can receive BAI2 files instead. Either direct export is more exact than converting a PDF and should be used when it's available; this tool is for the PDF statement itself.

Is my Bank of America statement really not uploaded anywhere?

It really isn't. Everything happens in the browser tab you already have open — there's no server behind this page and nothing for the file to be sent to. Check your browser's network tab while converting a Bank of America statement and you won't see a single request carrying it.

Why might some Bank of America transaction rows be missing or wrong?

Rather than a template made for Bank of America's specific layout, this tool works from the position of text on the page — reliable for most statements, though not guaranteed for every layout variation. Check the preview table and the balance-check panel before trusting the output, and make sure you're using a text-based PDF rather than a scan if something looks wrong.
